OverviewAs well as the built in apps on your iPad, there is an entire world of third party apps which you can download to transform it into a highly versatile tool. All of these apps can be accessed via the App Store. You can navigate the different sections of the App Store with the five icons at the bottom of your screen.
The Featured tab will show you a selection of new apps which Apple update every week. To see whats popular, tap on the Top Charts icon. This will let you see the most popular paid and free apps. If you see an app you like you can tap on it to see a brief description, some images of what the app looks like, as well as reviews from other people who have already downloaded the app. |
Downloading an AppDon't forget many of the key apps are provided to Lagan College pupils. However, if there are any you would like to add to your iPad try this.
To download an app, tap on either the Get button if it's free, or the price of a paid app. Any app with a cloud icon means you have downloaded the app before and it can be downloaded again for free. Finally, you will be asked to either sign in with an existing Apple ID or create a new one for free. If you are already signed in you will need to type in your password - don't worry if you've forgotten it, the 'iForget' option will allow you to reset your password easily. |
UpdatesWhen there are updates available for your downloaded apps, you might see a red number appear in your App Store icon. To update your apps, press the Update button on the bottom of your screen and then the Update All button on the top left.
You can see a list of the apps that have been updated here and what changes have been made to them. You can also set your iPad to automatically update your apps for you - See 'Settings' |
