About > Here you can see detailed information about your iPad, such as Songs/Videos/Photos/Apps you have currently, how much space you have available as well as your current version of iPad software (iOS). Software Update > You can update your iPad to the latest iOS from here. New versions typically add new features and fix bugs and security problems, so it’s always recommended you are running the latest version available for your iPad. Use Side Switch To > Here you can change the functionality of the small switch on the side of your iPad. By default it is set to ‘Mute’ which will put your iPad into silent mode, however you can change this button to be a ‘Rotation Lock’ so that your iPad doesn’t turn it’s screen automatically when you rotate your iPad - useful for reading in bed! Storage & iCloud Usage > Here you can see how much space is available in both your iPad’s memory and your iCloud account. Tap on the ‘Manage Storage’ button to see a detailed list of what is taking up the most space on your iPad. |

iTunes and App StoreThis pane lets you sign in or out of an iTunes account for downloading apps onto your iPad. A handy option here is to switch on ‘Updates’ under the Automatic Downloads section, as this will automatically keep your apps up to date without having to go into the app store all the time.
